Council Approves 55,000 Square Foot Rehab Hospital

The Abilene City Council approved a zoning change Thursday that will allow a 55,000 square-foot medical facility to be built in south Abilene. Senior Health, a Nashville, Tennessee-based company, plans to open a 70-bed inpatient physical rehabilitation center at the northwest corner of South Clack Street and Directors Parkway, south of Abilene Regional Medical Center. The facility will take up the western portion of the 5.5 acre tract of land that was rezoned Thursday. Nearly 2 acres of the tract will be available for development along South Clack Street, which could include space for restaurants or offices.
