Blue Cross, Blue Shield to mark 10th year in Abilene

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Abilene with a ceremony at 11:15 a.m. today at the plant, 4002 Loop 322. Mayor Norm Archibald will issue a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Day proclamation and is expected to join a luncheon celebration. BCBS - the only statewide, non-investor-owned health insurer in Texas - is the largest provider of health benefits in the state, working with nearly 40,000 physicians and 400 hospitals to serve more than 3.3 million members in all 254 counties.
