Genesis Networks Solutions to fill 150 positions
december 17, 2010
Genesis Networks Solutions is interviewing for numerous positions in the area of software development, testing and support.
Mark Viertel, president and CEO of the company, said approximately 150 full-time, permanent jobs would be filled within the next four months, some beginning as early as next month.
“We are looking for very specific people, with experience,” Viertel emphasized. A Dec. 6 job listing on the company’s website states the company is hiring “multiple” positions for “a large, long-term project that starts in January 2011.”
Viertel said the Abilene office currently employs approximately 100 people. The company also interacts with a large number of people in teams working on projects around the world.
Pay for the positions will depend on the abilities and experience of the applicants, Viertel said. He did not offer specific figures, but said the jobs will range from entry level positions to team leaders.
The company envisions filling the jobs quickly and expects to find numerous qualified candidates in the West Texas area. Referral bonuses and relocation allowances will be available.
“We are expecting that we’re going to draw from Abilene and other regional areas down the I-20 corridor,” he said. “They understand the culture of West Texas.
“It’s an aggressive schedule, bringing in 150 positions in the next four months. We have been doing interviews and we fully expect to get good candidates from this region.”
Qualified applicants are invited to submit resumes to apply@gns-abilene.com.
Genesis Networks Solutions was founded in Abilene four years ago. Viertel said that the company has logged just under 1 million hours in software development, testing and support.
“In the past, we’ve been very heavy on testing and support,” he said. “Some has been entry level, some more advanced. This project is focused on the advanced side.”
Viertel was optimistic that there could be further hiring in the future.
“We’re working on multiple projects,” he said. “But this is a big one.”
